Friday in St.-Etienne. A reception at Town Hall.

On Friday, the Algonquin students joined their French host students in classes at St. Paul until lunch time. They had time after lunch to once again explore Saint-Etienne with their hosts.

At 4 PM, everybody met on the steps of the Hotel de Ville, where the newly elected Mayor of St-Etienne invited students and teachers from both Algonquin and St. Paul for a reception.

The reception was in the City Hall's "Wedding" room.

The Mayor was unable to attend, but another city official addressed the group and welcomed the visitors from Massachusetts.

The official said that, if in the future, an Algonquin student and a St. Paul student fell in love and wanted to marry, they must come and have the wedding ceremony in the City Hall's Wedding Room!

Don't worry, there were no marriage proposals this week! :-)

Everybody enjoyed cookies and apple cider.

And a group photo was taken to remember the occasion.

After the reception, our students returned home with their host families, to spend one last weekend with their friends.
